Olga Christensen National Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Danish Sisterhood of America
Introduction
The Danish Sisterhood of America takes great pride in offering Scholarship and Grant opportunities to its members and to their children, with no age restrictions.
Funding and donor requirements
These awards are funded through permanent endowments and memorial gifts and are further supported by donations from individual members, local lodges, and national districts. Membership dues are not used to fund these scholarships. When the scholarship and grant funds were created, the donors — many with deep ties to the Sisterhood — specified eligibility conditions that the organization is legally obligated to follow. The continuity of the program depends on investment performance and ongoing contributions; donations are essential and greatly appreciated.
Scholarship overview
The Sisterhood currently administers five distinct scholarships. One of these scholarships presently provides six awards each year. All awards are intended for study beginning in the fall semester of the application year.

- Applications must be postmarked by March 1 of the year the student plans to begin fall study.
- Proof of enrollment (verification of matriculation) is required by October 31 for the first semester and by December 15 for the second semester.
Recipient limits and application preference
- An individual may receive no more than two National Scholarships in total. The Elizabeth Garde National Scholarship is an exception and may be received only once.
- First-time applicants will receive priority consideration over past scholarship recipients.
