Introduction
Red Label Abrasives was established to support the people who craft the things that improve our lives. We produce high-quality sanding belts, discs, and rolls to help makers—whether they work in furniture, tools, automotive, marine, or the arts—achieve a smooth, professional finish. When artisans and creators refine their skills, everyone benefits through better products, ideas, and services.
To encourage the next generation of makers, Red Label Abrasives created the annual Perfecting The Craft Scholarship. This award is intended to support students as they develop the knowledge component of mastery, along with time and practice.
Perfecting The Craft Scholarship — Overview
- Award amount: $500 (annual)
- Purpose: To assist students in pursuing mastery of their chosen craft and to prompt reflection on what they contribute to the world and how they are building the skills to do it.
Submission format
Students may present their craft in any media: photos, video, audio, slideshows, or other formats. All entries should include an explanation of how the applicant plans to perfect their craft. If helpful, written text can accompany visual or audio submissions.
Eligibility and application requirements
- Applicants must be U.S. citizens enrolled or planning to enroll as full-time students at a U.S. college, university, or trade school.
- Minimum GPA: 3.0.
- Applicants must submit both a scholarship application form and a creative/written piece demonstrating their passion and plan for skill development.
Required materials (submit to outreach@fintechabrasives.com by August 15th)
- Completed scholarship application form
- Certified copy of your student transcripts
- Written and/or media submission showcasing your craft and explaining how you will perfect it
Scholarship award details
- The selected recipient will receive $500 to be used exclusively for tuition and education-related expenses at their college, university, or trade school.
- The award check will be made payable directly to the recipient’s educational institution.
- Application window closes on August 15th. The scholarship winner will be notified by September 7th.
- Students retain full ownership of their submitted materials. Red Label Abrasives may request permission to feature submission content, the student’s name and school, and photos on the company website and social media channels.
Deadline and late submissions
All application materials must be emailed to outreach@fintechabrasives.com by the end of the day on August 15th. Entries received after that date will not be considered for the current year’s award but may be eligible for the following year’s scholarship.
Privacy statement
Red Label Abrasives aims to protect applicants’ privacy. We do not collect personal information beyond what you voluntarily provide in your scholarship submission. We will not sell, rent, trade, or share this information with unrelated third parties. Information submitted is used solely to evaluate applicants and select the scholarship recipient.
