Hon. Ruth Bader Ginsburg Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles Foundation
Introduction
The Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles (WLALA) Foundation invites law students who are committed to advancing social justice, equality, and inclusion—following the example of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg—to apply for tuition scholarships. Applicants should show a demonstrated dedication to issues impacting women, children, minorities, or other historically marginalized communities.
Eligibility
Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
- Be enrolled in an accredited law school now and intend to remain enrolled for the 2026–2027 academic year.
- Plan to practice law in Los Angeles County, or perform legal work that directly affects Los Angeles County, after graduation.
- Rank within the top fifty percent of their law school class.
Required Application Materials
Please submit the following items:
1. Personal statement (typed, double-spaced, maximum two pages) that addresses each of these points:
- Your commitment to issues affecting women, children, minorities, and/or other marginalized groups.
- How you will continue public-service-oriented legal work after graduation, specifically in or related to Los Angeles County.
- Why you require the scholarship and how the award would assist you.
2. Current resume.
3. Law school transcript (fall 2025 grades must be included; an unofficial transcript is acceptable).
4. At least one letter of reference (up to three letters may be submitted).
