Introduction
In 2026 Montana Silversmiths marks the 21st Anniversary of the Pursuit of Excellence Scholarship. Since its launch in 2005, this program has invested more than $150,000 in students who reflect the spirit of the American West — resilience, integrity, and a persistent commitment to personal growth.
Eligibility
The Pursuit of Excellence Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors and current college students who are enrolled in an accredited post-secondary program, including:
- 2- or 4-year colleges or universities
- Community colleges
- Trade or technical schools
- Other accredited post-secondary institutions
We seek applicants who are passionate about agriculture and the Western lifestyle, and who work consistently to become better people and contributors to their communities. Montana Silversmiths created this scholarship as a way to support the next generation that inspires and sustains the West.

This award is not decided by the highest GPA or the most athletic honors. Instead, selection focuses on qualities such as:

- Applications open: February 2026
- Number of scholarships: At least five awards will be granted in 2026
- Application deadline: June 1, 2026 at 11:59 PM MST
- Winners announced: September 1, 2026
