The Oklahoma Chapter of NAHRO offers a one-year scholarship to support students connected to public housing, Section 8, or community development housing programs, as well as children of qualifying housing agency employees. Louise Miller (1914–2008), who was a founding member of the Greater Bridgeport chapter in 1948 and a noted teacher, church musician, and organist. In 2015 the Greater Bridgeport Chapter of the American Guild of Organists renamed the fund following a generous bequest from the estate of Dr. Paul E. Knox (1930–2015), a respected colleague of Dr. Miller and distinguished church musician and educator.
